We are going to get much closer to understanding the scope of the Ontario Liberal gas scandal this August.

The Justice Policy Committee hearings investigating the gas plant scandal is scheduled to meet every Tuesday this month. I expect to be live tweeting appearances of major witness appearances. The witness schedule for August 6 kicks off at 9 am with Laura Miller who was McGuinty’s former deputy chief of staff, Chuck Rothman, Directorof E-Discovery Services at Wortzman Nickle Professional Corporation and a representative of the Ministry of Government Services knowledgeable about the ongoing recovery of emails that many top McGuinty insiders attempted to destroy. Upcoming witnesses later in August may include key Liberal insiders Don Guy and David Gene. The Ontario PCs captured emails showing Guy and Gene working to apply pressure on the speaker of the legislature Dave Levac. Those emails are here.

In other news, this web site was referred to in passing in the newly released legal opinion issued to the McGuinty government on how to deal with the Speaker’s contempt finding against Former Energy Minister Chris Bentley.
