Toronto Hydro’s CEO, Anthony Haines, will be presenting to the Economic Development Committee on October 16, 2012. The Economic Development Committee needs to demand an explanation as to why Toronto Hydro is the highest cost urban utility in Ontario.
The attached chart was produced by energy lawyer Jay Shepherd for a presentation to an event sponsored by the Ontario Energy Board in July. Jay reports that there are some errors in the customer numbers, which he’ll correct in the next edition. These changes will not affect Toronto Hydro’s ranking as the highest cost urban utility in Ontario. Jay’s regulatory client, the School Energy Coalition, does the wider public a great service by retaining him.
