Here is a report on a conflict between the Michipicoten First Nation and the Batchewana First Nation over a wind development north of Sault Ste. Marie. The wind developer is the new incarnation of the former company Canadian Hydro. By partnering with a First Nation, the developer taps into to richer government subsidies for renewable energy development.
I suppose that when one taps into richer government subsidies one must budget for richer payoffs.
