The OEB has announced that the government has re-appointed the following Board Members: Cynthia Chaplin, Vice-Chair, for a period of two years; Paula Conboy, full-time Board Member for a period of three years;Marika Hare, full-time Board Member for a period of four years and Cathy Spoel as part-time Board Member for a period of two years. These are relatively long terms by historical practice, although still too short in my opinion. In previous testimony to the Ontario legislature addressing OEB governance, I have argued for seven-year fixed terms. Note that the second vice chair position — a legal requirement — remains vacant.
