Attached is a joint submission by Parker Gallant and me to the Ontario government through the Environment Registry regarding the Draft Supply Mix Directive and the associated Long Term Energy Plan (EBR Registry Number: 011-1701).

The theme of these comments addresses many of the themes that are frequently discussed on this site. We are concerned that the Draft Supply Mix Directive and the associated Long Term Energy Plan (LTEP) are poised to drastically raise electricity costs for Ontario consumers and create significant risks for the reliability of Ontario’s power system. We also raise concerns about compliance by Samsung and Korea Electric Power with Ontario lobbyist registration rules. We recommend much more disclosure and analysis of the implications of electricity policy decisions in Ontario.
