During the interview I discuss the now certain trajectory that will see power rates double by late 2011 relative to rates prevailing at the beginning of the McGuinty government’s term of office in 2003, the relatively unimportant contribution of smart meters to Ontario’s electricity rate crisis, the policy and spending programs that are actually driving up rates, the mistake of thinking that eliminating electricity sector agencies or slashing experienced staff will benefit consumers, and the need for a comprehensive review of electricity policies following the next election.
