Gas Busters Part 9: Windsor Star Endorses Moratorium Now

The Windsor Star has published a sweeping review of Ontario’s growing electricity crisis, supporting my call for a moratorium now. After explaining the growing crisis for electricity consumers, the Windsor Star concludes its editorial:

Energy watchdog Tom Adams has called for a moratorium on everything from wind turbines to restructuring distribution utilities, right now. He says it’s time for “qualified independent experts to figure out what elements of our existing commitments provide value and what do not.”

He has a valid point. MPPs should put their leisure time to good use. Fix a system that is costing too much and operating inefficiently. It doesn’t matter which party wins the next election. If the energy sector doesn’t change, we’ll continue to be crippled by costs.
